Signs of a Dental Infection

The following symptoms are concerning indicators of a dental infection:

Persistent and Spontaneous Pain: The pain is severe, rated on a scale of 8 out of 10, and is often experienced throughout the day.

Worsening Pain with Posture Changes: The pain intensifies when lying on one’s side or bending over.

Tenderness and Sensitivity to Chewing: The affected area becomes tender and sensitive to chewing, and may feel soft and pus-filled.

Dark Redness: The affected area may appear dark red in color.

Severe Pain on Touch: Touching the affected area causes significant pain and may result in a bad taste.

If these symptoms persist despite the use of over-the-counter pain relievers like Advil or Tylenol, it is likely indicative of an infection.

Please inform the office if you are experiencing these symptoms. We will promptly arrange for an antibiotic prescription to alleviate your discomfort BUT we will need to provide definitive and permanent care once the acute nature of the infection is controlled.

We would like to inquire if you have any allergies to penicillin.

To proceed with the prescription, we kindly request that you provide us with your
